Solome is a Pan-African feminist activist and and analyst within the women’s rights, human rights, sexual rights and feminist movements in Uganda and around the world.
She has played a fundamental role in supporting the (re)emergence of progressive social movements and organizing through her various past positions. Solome served as; Executive Director – Akina Mama wa Afrika, Executive Director – Uganda Women’s Network, Chief Executive Officer – Nnabagereka Development Foundation, Lecturer – Makerere University, Nkumba University and External Research Supervisor for the Noragric University.
Solome has a proven track record in kick-starting, reviving, and running successful organizations, institutions and social movements that engage with cutting edge issues. She has also worked as consultant with UNAIDS, Womankind International, Women Deliver, The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, The Robert Bosch Stiftung (RBSG) Open Society Initiative for Eastern Africa (OSIEA) and Action Aid International among others.
