Who we are
Advancing Gender Equality Through Leadership, Advocacy, and Community Action
Forum for Women in Democracy (FOWODE) is a women’s rights organization dedicated to advancing gender equality and social justice in Uganda. For years, FOWODE has worked alongside women, youth, and communities to ensure that women are not only heard but are actively shaping decisions that affect their lives.
Through leadership training, mentorship, advocacy, and community programs, FOWODE empowers women to participate in governance, influence policies, and advocate for their rights. The organization also works to strengthen accountability, promote inclusive leadership, and ensure that public systems respond to the needs of women and marginalized communities.
