The Agali Awamu Care Takers Women’s Group, comprising 22 dedicated women and 4 devoted men, stands as a beacon of hope in Namungo Sub-County, Kiteete Parish, Mityana District. Functioning as a savings collective, the group not only promotes financial stability among its members but also demonstrates an unwavering commitment to supporting vulnerable children, often orphaned due to the devastating effects of HIV.
Despite facing resource constraints, the group strategically channels earnings from activities like farming and interest accrued from member loans toward the well-being of the most vulnerable members of their community. Four years ago, the group aspired to expand its impact and engage in community-wide activities but encountered challenges due to limited knowledge on how to proceed.
